I have aftermarket velocity stacks. Do I need a new map?
In most cases, no. While velocity stack length can shift the power and torque curve up or down in the RPM range, it typically has minimal impact on the air/fuel ratio. That means special tuning or a new map is usually not required when installing aftermarket stacks.
At Brock’s Performance, we occasionally recommend specific OEM stack swaps for certain applications. For example:
- Gen 2 Hayabusa: May benefit from using shorter GSX-R1000 stacks.
- Highly modified Gen 1 Hayabusa: May perform better with all short stacks.
Even in these cases, the standard stack configuration can still be used effectively with our existing maps.
