Will I gain horsepower with Alisyn <<0 weight oil and Petron additive?
Quite honestly, we can’t answer that question with an exact horsepower number because it depends on which engine lubrication you are switching FROM. Some of today’s modern sportbike oils are fantastic power producers.
Example: Kawasaki 10w-40 full synthetic is difficult to beat from a horsepower standpoint, so is Suzuki Ecstar. Switching from either of these oils to <<0 weight Alisyn +Petron might gain 1-2 RWHP on the dyno. Where the Alisyn and Petron will really shine is in the acceleration of the bike on the track as a result of the lighter weight (viscosity) creating less drag on moving engine internal parts.
Alisyn <<0 combined with Petron Plus additive produces a straight 10 weight (10w) final product (0w-20 +Petron = 10w-30 etc.) with fantastic friction reducing properties. Not only do we go faster, but our clutches last longer also.
While we generally expect a 1-3 HP gain over most oils, occasionally we find greater increases. Example: Our 2010 S1000RR “Christine” demonstrated a net gain of almost 6 RWHP by switching from the break-in oil that came in the bike (oil type and weight unknown) compared the Alisyn <<0 and Petron Plus. See dyno chart below.
