ZX-14 Overheats or Spits Antifreeze After Exhaust Installation
This issue is typically caused by incorrect hose reinstallation on the radiator.
On the top right side of the radiator, there are two small hoses—one is an outlet (exhaust) and the other is an inlet. If these hoses are accidentally swapped during reinstallation, it can disrupt coolant flow and cause overheating or coolant overflow when the engine is shut off. We've seen this exact issue multiple times when the hoses were reversed.
Solution: Double-check the orientation of these hoses and ensure they’re connected to the correct ports.
Important Note: Removing the radiator is not necessary when installing our exhaust systems. We recommend reviewing the installation instructions prior to removal. They can be found in the links provided below.
