Will oil additive cause clutch slippage?
While an oil additive itself doesn’t directly cause clutch slippage, it can reduce friction slightly. If your clutch was already worn or near the end of its life, this reduction in friction may have simply revealed an issue that was already developing.
🔧 What to do:
-
Perform a complete clutch inspection as outlined in your bike’s service manual.
-
If any components are worn, replace them as needed.
-
You’ll also need to change the oil, as contaminated or overly slippery oil can contribute to slippage.
✅ Recommended:
We suggest using Alisyn synthetic oil paired with Petron additive after repairs are complete. This combo is proven to deliver high performance and excellent clutch life when used with a properly maintained system.
