Spring pressure appears to be outside of spec, Should I be concerned?
In most cases, there's no need for concern—here’s what you need to know:
All Brock’s Performance clutch springs are pre-set to a specific height and stress-relieved at the factory to ensure consistent performance. However, if a spring has been:
-
Compressed solid (accidental coil bind)
-
Improperly shimmed
-
Used in a setup with incorrect clutch stack height
Then it may temporarily read outside the expected pressure range due to distortion from being operated outside its effective range.
How to Recalibrate:
You can easily “reset” your springs:
-
Simply compress each spring to coil bind a couple of times.
-
After this, they should return to within the acceptable tolerance range—typically within a few pounds of one another.
In our experience, inconsistencies in spring pressure readings are rarely due to actual spring failure—often, the cause lies elsewhere in the setup.
Lifetime Warranty:
Even better—Brock’s clutch springs come with a lifetime warranty. If your springs are out of spec and cannot be reset, send them in and we’ll replace them free of charge (you just cover shipping). As long as they’re verified Brock’s springs, you’re covered.
