Do you have any tips to loosen a tight sprocket nut?
First, make sure you flatten the locking tab on the thin washer behind the nut. It is folded up onto one of the flats to prevent the nut from vibrating loose as an added safety measure it can be difficult to spot.
Second, loosen the nut with an impact gun and a 32 mm impact socket. A thread locker is used from the factory, but there is no need for heat. Not only can you start a FIRE, but too much heat can damage the oil seal on the output shaft and cause a leak. Replacement of this seal requires splitting the cases and could get VERY expensive. A high-quality pneumatic or electric impact gun will remove the nut without the need for heat. A large breaker bar (while holding the rear brake) works well also. Re-torque nut to 92 ft-lbs.
